Important News: Two Fixes + Reviews Pause
We have experienced and fixed two issues involving some irregularity with our web logging and game rankings in the last week that you may have noticed.
The first issue involved the ranking of games between April 4th-6th. Due to a bug, the games list was not ranked in accordance with our regular algorithm; accordingly, some games may have been ranked more highly than normal, displacing other games that would otherwise have been placed there. This has been fixed.
The second was a web logging issue that started April 5th and was fixed April 8th. Although developers might have seen a drop in gameplay metrics related to Web gameplays from this period, actual game plays were still happening. If a user first started playing the game while the web logging issue was occurring, they may later be considered “new” even though they began playing while the issue was live. Unfortunately, data regarding which specific users were involved is not available. However, revenue metrics were and are still correct for that time period since those metrics are captured by Audience Network logging, which wasn't affected by this bug. The web logging issues been resolved.
Finally, we wanted to let you know that we found an issue with the Instant Games submission process. As a result, we unfortunately need to temporarily halt reviews of Instant Games submissions for the time being. We’re working to clear this issue up as quickly as we can. You can still submit your game for review, it just won't be reviewed during this time. We'll let you know as soon as reviews resume.
